Our story

Hampton & Lake

Closer to nature.
Starting with what we wear.

01 / Why we exist

Bring natural fibers
back to the game.

Golf asks us to pay attention. To the lie of the land. To the wind. To the smallest change in feel. We believe the shirt against your skin deserves that same attention.

Hampton & Lake exists to make plant-derived fibers a deliberate choice in golfwear. Not a decorative detail in the story. The starting point of the garment.

02 / A different starting point

Before the logo,
there is the fiber.

Performance is an easy word to put on a label. We want to talk about what is underneath it.

The feel at the collar. The way the cloth falls across your back. The surface against your skin when you have been wearing it for hours. These are the details that make us choose one shirt again.

Our preference is clear: a soft, plant-derived base, considered shape, and enough stretch to move. We would rather make the fabric the reason you come back.

03 / Our design principles

What matters
to us.

A point of view should be visible in the product. These are the choices we want our clothes to stand for.

01

Material before marketing.

Start with the cloth, not a performance slogan. Put its composition where you can find it. Explain what each fiber contributes.

02

Consider the hours against skin.

A polo is worn for longer than a swing. Give softness, surface, drape, and freedom of movement the attention they deserve.

03

Let the cloth be seen.

Keep the silhouette clear and the colors grounded in the landscape. Leave room to notice texture, proportion, and how a garment sits on the body.

04

Say what is in it.

Natural-forward is a direction, not a claim of purity. Name every part of the blend. Be as clear about the stretch as the cotton and lyocell.

04 / The first expression

The Biome Series.

50% lyocell. 44% cotton. 6% stretch.

Wood-derived lyocell and cotton form the base of our first polo series. Stretch plays a supporting role. The result is the fabric expression we wanted: soft to the touch, fluid in its drape, and easy to move in.

Limestone. Glacier. Deep Cypress. Volcanic Ash. Colors drawn from the world we go outside to spend time in.

05 / Our kind of golf

The score is only
part of the day.

There is the shot. Then there is everything around it: the walk, the changing light, the conversation that has nothing to do with golf.

We are here for the people who care about their game and still notice where they are. For whom dressing well is a pleasure, not a dress code. Who turn a shirt over to read the label.

06 / Keep asking

Conviction.
And curiosity.

We have a strong preference for plant-derived fibers. We also believe a preference is not a substitute for evidence.

That is why our Fabric Evidence index makes room for a closer look at textiles, shedding, and environmental questions. We link to the researchers who did the work and distinguish their findings from our choices.

Our ambition is simple: make golfwear people want to wear, and give the material the attention it has been missing.
