The cooling effect is actually real.

Not gonna lie, I thought the "bio-performance" stuff was just marketing jargon. I run hot and sweat through everything on the back nine. Took the Glacier out for a humid morning round in Florida. The shirt genuinely feels cool against your skin when you first put it on, and whatever this fabric blend is, it absorbs moisture without looking wet on the outside. Swapping out all my polyester stuff for this.

The Biome Fabric Standard

Fabric details

Tencel-rich performance jersey. The Biome Polo begins with a cellulosic fiber base selected for its smooth hand, breathable surface, and naturally cool feel against skin. Unlike the slick touch common in polyester golfwear, this fabric was chosen to feel softer, quieter, and closer to the body.

Why Tencel. Tencel lyocell is made from wood-based cellulose and is known for a smooth fiber surface and moisture management. In a golf polo, that matters because the fabric sits against the neck, shoulders, chest, and back through heat, sweat, and repeated movement.

Why cotton. Cotton brings familiar natural softness and a matte, refined look. It helps the polo avoid the shiny synthetic surface that makes many performance shirts look technical rather than elegant.

Why stretch. A measured amount of stretch supports the swing, the walk, and daily wear. The goal is movement without turning the garment into gymwear: clean drape, quiet structure, and enough recovery to hold its shape.

The Biome standard. We judge performance by contact: how the fabric feels on skin, how it breathes in warm conditions, how it moves through a round, and how it looks in natural light. The result is a polo built for golf, but not trapped in golfwear.

Care guide

Care guide

Wash cold. Machine wash cold with like colors. Cold water is gentler on cellulosic fibers and helps preserve the fabric surface, color, and handfeel.

Use mild detergent. Avoid bleach, optical brighteners, and heavy softeners. The fabric is designed to feel smooth naturally; heavy additives can build up on the surface and change the hand.

Protect the shape. Turn inside out before washing. Close buttons before washing if possible. Wash with similar-weight garments rather than rough towels, denim, or items with abrasive hardware.

Dry with low heat. Lay flat to dry for the cleanest shape, or tumble dry low if needed. Avoid high heat, which can stress natural and cellulosic fibers and reduce long-term recovery.

Finish lightly. If needed, steam or iron on low from the inside. Do not dry clean. A little care preserves the quiet surface and keeps the polo looking sharp beyond the first season.
